PAs are employed by disabled people to support them with aspects of daily living. This support might include:

  • Driving to and from college, work, school appointments and meetings, etc
  • Assistance with physiotherapy/exercising
  • Managing correspondence
  • Support accessing social and leisure activities for example swimming and the pub
  • Providing personal care which includes going to the toilet, having a bath, putting on and taking off clothes, repositioning, moving arms and feet into comfortable positions, etc.

PAs support disabled people of all ages.

Personal Assistant Required for a Lady in Davyhulme
Could you provide PA support for a lady in Davyhulme with cerebral palsy and a learning disability to access the local community? Would you have up to 4 hours on a Tuesday and 4 hours on a Saturday to support this lady with activities such as shopping and going to the gym.

Personal Assistant Required to support a little boy at the weekend
Could you support a little boy in Trafford for a few hours every Saturday? The family is looking for a personal assistant to take out their son for up to 4 hours each Saturday. The little boy has moderate learning difficulties and communicates using sign language.

So if you have a few hours free on a Saturday, can communicate using sign language and would like to make a difference please apply.

PA's required to support African Caribbean male in Old Trafford on a flexible, rota basis.

This is a fantastic position as this client hosts his own community radio show and is keen to develop his kills and confidence again after a brain injury. He is looking to recruit a small team of PA's to cover all shifts.

Shifts: 9.00 am each morning and 6.00pm each evening, both 1 hour. The role Includes:

  • prompting/enabling with medication;
  • making breakfast;
  • prompting with personal care, bathing and prompting/enabling with evening meal.

There are also a couple of hours for domestic support per week and some hours for social and community support.

This would suit someone located in the Old Trafford area and hourly pay is as follows:

  • weekday shifts £7.50/hour;
  • evenings £8.50/hour;
  • weekend mornings £9.50/hour;
  • weekend evenings £10.50/hour.

Personal Assistants required to provide care supporting a gentleman in his home and his local community within the Old Trafford area. The positions would suit enthusiastic and caring individuals who can work well with others.

The role would require:

  • providing daily personal care for the gentleman;
  • providing assistance with meal preparation and cleaning;
  • supporting him to access his local community and social events when required;
  • enabling him attend college once a week in term time.

Previous experience of providing support and personal care within a caring environment is preferred. The use of a car is also required with business cover for community access. The role will also require moving and handling of a wheelchair in and out of a car.

Hours (to be shared between the two successful candidates).

17 hours per week plus 2 more hours in college term time,
7.30am to 8.30am,
6.00am to 7.00pm,
7 days per week.

Other hours available on a flexible nature, to cover holidays etc.

Female Personal Assistant required to support a lady who lives in Stretford and has recently had a hip replacement. She is on hip precautions so is unable to bend down.

This position would suit an animal lover as the lady has a poodle.

A car owner would be an advantage as the lady will need support with her shopping.

  • To assist with personal care / dressing her lower half. And to support to apply cream to her lower leg and foot.

Personal Assistant Required to support a man to access the community
A gentleman with learning disabilities is looking for a personal assistant for up to 16 hours a week to support him to access the community. 

The role might include supporting the gentleman to access arts and crafts activities, exercise classes and maybe also wood work classes or occasional air shows at a weekend. Days and times are to be confirmed although there could be some flexibility.

This role would suit an enthusiastic, outgoing and friendly person who would be willing to accompany the gentleman to leisure and social activities of his choice.

Rate of pay would be up to £8 an hour.

A family in the Stretford Area are looking for an experienced carer/support worker to provide regular support to a young boy with disabilities.

Applicants must be energetic, outgoing, honest and reliable. A car driver is preferred, and mileage allowance will be paid. If you are creative, and able to use your initiative in finding places to go to, this would be perfect!

The job role will involve providing personal care to the child, whilst in your care. Therefore high levels of hygiene are a must. Training can be provided if required.

Hours of work will be 2 hours per week on a weekend afternoon approx 1pm - 3pm. There will be longer shifts where you may be asked to travel to an event with the family, and provide evening support for the child. In this case, you will be paid for providing the support, and hotel accommodation would be provided.

Hourly pay is £6.84 per hour
